We are seeking a salesperson with 5+ years’ experience, who is tech-savvy, and knows how to win in this new business era, by understanding the value of combining phone-based sales with video Teams, Zoom and soon we all hope in-person sales calls to successfully win business.
You must be able to independently seek out leads, qualify prospects, demo products, sign up customers and nurture lasting relationships to build advocates for a number of assigned technology products as well as look after existing customers.
You must be motivated and understand that "our primary business goal is growth above all else in late 2021 and 2022."
This gives you time to learn, think about your sales strategy, work out a plan and how to get the results you would like from an open-ended commission scheme. There is marketing resource, trade shows (when they restart) and other opportunities to build up your sales activities to help you to achieve success.
Your Role
As a specific hire for a new role, you will take responsibility for two technology solutions which have their own websites. One is single product and single brand, the other multi-product and multi-brand.
You take responsibility for the day to day sales, manage your own inbound and outbound sales campaigns with reference to marketing and management, educate prospective customers about their options, suggest solutions and close sales.
You will connect with many different customers from technician level small ticket item buyers to General Managers seeking a new solution (existing or new customer).
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced internal sales executive looking for autonomy and flexibility, or an individual who is seeking to grow their sales and leadership career as more technical product learning is completed. You have all of the U.K. as your playground of opportunity.
You will be mentored by the CEO and work closely with the marketing manager, both are looking for someone who is dynamic, has an opinion to share and can listen well before coming to a conclusion and applying the agreed action. In time, you will set and work your own plan as you understand more about the business and acceptable solutions, supply or pricing parameters.
You will not be the type of person who drives at 90 mph only to find there is a hairpin straight ahead and the brakes do not work! You are a thinker, you know the journey you want to take and will navigate a circuit successfully.
Typical Responsibilities
* Outbound prospecting to potential customers/clients (B2B) via phone, the database is well defined, there is still grunt work ensuring the quality of the CRM system will work for you – not against you and making you a data entry input person.
* Read journals, visit websites, read alerts or newsletters to seek out, qualify and close opportunities for assigned accounts via pro-active sales activities. Take an interest in the prospects and clients which shows you understand single point of selling and multi-contact as well.
* Follow-up and plan with the marketing manager the social media and inbound marketing lead generation. Adopt both a traditional and social selling style in your work.
* Follow up on inbound leads that have been generated through various marketing activities or referrals by distributors or existing clients.
* Understand the importance of weekly KPIs for calls, contacts, proposals and sales and establishing methods to achieve them
* Implement campaigns to nurture and generate lasting business relationships with customers.
* In time set, own and hit your monthly revenue targets for assigned technology products.
You will have a profile which has:
* Min 3+ years’ previous sales experience (telephone-based sales preferred – recruiting, B2B estate agent work, banking or call centre are some examples).
* Some experience of selling software, cloud or other technology services to businesses. You have to have an understanding of technology, know what Wi-Fi is and other common terminology.
* Existing relationships with businesses (we do not need your contacts, simply to know you understand B2B), any work with resellers or distributors a plus.
* Experience of working with different types of people, selling or in customer service in a B2B environment.
* Able to operate in an entrepreneurial environment, adept at using MS Teams or similar and be well organised, punctual, good at spelling and write in English well in a clear to understand way without being "too technical."
* Curious and willing to learn, there may be times you will pick up a technology magazine to read it because you are interested to learn about an advancement or upcoming end of life product change. This cannot be taught – you have this DNA or you do not.
* Able to work from home (COVID restrictions) or the office with a provided laptop/computer and headset.
* University degree – Bachelor or accredited equivalent level of study, IT technology accreditations ( CCNA or similar will be regarded positively).
This is a permanent position, base salary plus commission and benefits.
