Applications Support Manager required by an expanding organisation within the financial sector based in Aylesbury. Paying up to £65k, the Applications Support Manager will be experienced in people management and technically skilled with supporting a Linux/UNIX environment including Cobol, C#, C, SQL, PostGres, security access management and the management of enterprise applications.
The Applications Support Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team including work delegation, maintaining and developing staff rotas, staff progression plans and performance appraisals. Technically, the Application Support Manager will take the lead in ensuring the team delivers a high standard of first line support across all applications and use incident reports to identify where application improvements could be made. They will also assess whether new applications are able to be implemented as well as testing fixes and performing follow ups to ensure that the issue has been fixed.
Relevant Skills and Responsibilities:
Technical skill within Linux/UNIX, Cobol, C#, C, SQL and PostGres
Prior experience support financial data interfaces such as BACS, RTI, Banks or PRA
Hands-on experience with the support of enterprise applications
Ability to develop and understand technical documentation as well as interpret that to end users when training
