Application Engineer
Satellite Navigation and Position Technologies –GNSS, GPS – Automotive, Aviation, Aerospace, CAV, Drone Technologies
UK – Home office with international travel (25%, short trips)

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Application Engineer / FAE to join a team responsible for spearheading the deployment & development of a new, and first to market, XaaS offerings for this genuine market leading provider of Satellite navigation and positioning technologies. Not only will the Application Engineer be working with large existing customers to understand their environment and how solutions integrate, running test beds, integration and support etc., will also work with Development teams on the evolution of brand new XaaS offerings. Industry applications are broad, customers include large names within Automotive (CAV), Aerospace, Aviation, Defence and a whole host of GPS industry applications.
To succeed in the Application Engineer role you will need;
* 5+ year’s related experience in a high technology organisation.
* Direct experience providing on-site and remote, technical customer support.
* Experience working in the delivery and integration of product in automotive, aviation, marine or satellite navigation/GPS industries.
* Knowledge of cloud-based systems, software engineering and validation methods.
* Experience in the use of analysis and data capture tools
* Direct and recent experience using standard RF and other test equipment
* Knowledge of scripting / integration – JSON, Javascript. Restful API, Java…….
* Good problem-solving abilities – able to troubleshoot technical issues and find solutions to complex problems
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities
* Willingness to travel including internationally, up to 25 % of the time
Responsibilities Include;
* Respond to incoming Service Requests from customers, sales engineers and sales team via telephone, online networks and email.
* Provide remote, on-site, and testbed development and integration support, and product approvals.
* Liaise with UK and global support and development engineers to analyse and resolve complex customer issues and to report identified hardware or software design flaws.
* Analyse reported problems, replicating and demonstrating them if needed using appropriate dedicated support equipment.
* Suggest, prepare and deliver solutions to customers for both hardware and software problems.
* Assist Professional Services team with delivery of PS engagements if required.
* On-site installation and technical support for customers when required.
