2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer – Milton Keynes
The Company:
Focus Group Recruitment have the pleasure with working alongside well established IT MSP business. My client are the UK leaders within the SME sector.
The Role:
Due to planned growth and business requirements, we are now seeking another IT Support Engineer to complement their existing service desk team. You will be Customer focused, well organised, enthusiastic individual who will provide support to external customers, assisting them with hardware and software problems. You will be troubleshooting, installing, maintaining, and supporting a wide range of IT systems, typically for up to 150 users.
The role requires the following attributes:
* To provide comprehensive 2nd/3rd line technical support, answering support queries via telephone, email, remotely and customer facing onsite.
* Provide support to the first- and second-line analysts when necessary.
* Professional telephone conduct with proficient writing skills.
* Strong documentation skills.
* Maintain a high degree of customer focus for all support queries and to adhere to all service management principles.
* To take ownership and be proactive when supporting all Clients.
* To log and manage all incidents assigned to you in accordance with Service level agreements in the Call Logging systems.
* Support/consult Clients in the use of technical equipment by providing necessary training and advice.

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have 3-year Commercial years of experience as a Service Desk Engineer, ideally with Managed Services experience. This is a great opportunity for a 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
* You will be a highly motivated, experienced 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer with 5 or more year's commercial experience, with a proven track record in a Senior support role.
* You will need to be flexible to the needs of the business and show dedication to the task in hand through to completion.
* Proficient in Microsoft Operating systems, including Desktop O/S 7 – Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 – 2019.
* Good working knowledge of virtualisation and SAN’s including Hyper V and vSphere technologies are also desirable, as well as good exposure to networking technologies which includes full understanding of Networking Protocols and TCP/IP fundamentals.
* You will also have sound understanding of how-to setup, troubleshoot and maintain routers, firewalls and switches.
* Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint skills are also highly desirable. With knowledge on how to setup, administer and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange, and Office 365.
* Any ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco and Apple qualifications would be beneficial to your application.
The Location:
The role is based in North Milton Keynes and is commutable from Northampton, Bedford, Luton, Aylesbury and Buckingham.
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 + great benefits including, contributed pension scheme , 20 days + 8 days bank holidays
