We are currently seeking a 1st Line IT Support Field Engineer to join a vibrant and growing organisation based in Milton Keynes or Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a strong interested in the IT field and experience and knowledge of basic Microsoft technologies and a good understanding of networking including TCP/IP, DNS & DHCP.
A successful candidate will have a wide scope of general IT infrastructure skills and experience in the pursuit of delivering a high standard of work to both the user communities and change projects.
This will be a part field based role, working both on-site with clients based in Milton Keynes or Northampton (based on candidate location). Due to travel requirements a driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.
This role demands excellent technical skills with the ability to support, maintain and operate systems. You will work as part of a team but with the ability to take responsibility and accountability for independent work packages. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in projects and innovate whilst running all day to day support activities.
Key Skills & Areas of Responsibilities:
Provide First Line IT support on a day-to-day basis Ensure that calls are answered in a timely manner Record all tickets on our Service Desk System with sufficient information Ensuring that IT support requests & incidents are dealt with promptly & resolved within the agreed SLA Support system changes and project work independent to day-to-day support activities Troubleshooting skills Out of hours installations Ability to prioritise mission critical vs non critical
Skills Qualifications and Knowledge Required:
Experience of mainstream IT infrastructure services and components including: o Good customer services skills o Knowledge of basic Microsoft technologies E.G Windows 10, Active Directory o Understanding of networking including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP o Workstation builds o Microsoft Remote Desktop Services o Support professionals with specific focus on providing effective system and user support o Proactive organisational skills with attention to detail o Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with peers and clients o Excellent document writing skills to support system documentation o Ability to manage work load for themselves and associated teams in pressurised environments to agreed service level agreements o Prepared to travel in main land UK when requested o Flexible to complete out of hours emergency/planned works o Ability to share knowledge o Works systematically, prioritises and plans ahead to effectively accomplish work goals. o Have a responsible attitude to security and confidentiality
Skills Qualifications and Knowledge Desired o Vlan, setup and configurations o Firewall and internet connectivity setups and firewall rule administration o Installation of server operating system and Active directory installation
Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and business insurance CompTIA+ or CCENT Equivalent Previous experience within a similar role Windows 10,8 A DBS certificate would be preferable however, the client will provide this if required
Salary 18,000 – 22,000
Hours 08:30- 17:30
