Location: Covering Sites in Milton Keynes / Northamptonshire / Bedfordshire
Due to continued business growth, we have an exciting new opportunity for an Area Manager to join our management team.
As an Area Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day service delivery and smooth management of services provided by Tatry Group within your designated area. You will primarily manage contract cleaning services, but this will also include some security guard contracts.
You will be managing the team with full responsibility for the success and safe running of the contracts providing direction, guidance, training and support to your team to provide an excellent service for Tatry Group’s customers across multi-site locations.
Duties include managing standards, rotas, staffing levels, ordering equipment and supplies, recruitment, overseeing budgets, H.R. issues, H&S, and building relationships to ensure the service runs smoothly.
You will be responsible for planning, owning and executing the operational service delivery within the contracts you oversee.
Core Responsibilities
* Retain customers by ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with reliable service delivery through a motivated, trained workforce.
* Building relationships and delight customers with every interaction with customers through regular communication and attending onsite meetings
* To act as Line Manager to and regularly visit all site employees, incorporating recruitment, training, personal development, and applying HR / disciplinary process.
* Ensure operational cover by planning and organising staffing requirements, including arranging cover for sickness and holidays and arbitrate the time and attendance system.
* Build a strong network of local cover staff to fill any roles which become vacant, either short or long term
* The role is hands-on as well as one of a managerial nature. Therefore, you are required to cover at short notice where cover cannot be found.
* Organise and oversee subcontractors and third-party activities associated with our service
* Conducting random and pre-planned audits
* Liaise with the Operations Manager regularly to update them on all matters relating to contracts within your geographical area.
* Monitor stock levels and order supplies and equipment for sites. Deliver cleaning materials where require whilst ensuring all site equipment is functional and as needed at each site.
* Ensuring Health & Safety procedures and legislation is adhered to
* Take part in the out of hours duty manager rotation that includes evenings, mornings and weekends.
* Log, respond to and solve problems that customers are experiencing as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Escalate issues when necessary to prevent losing a customer.

The roles involve out of normal hours working; therefore, flexibility regarding working hours is essential to provide effective management.

* Interpersonal and people management skills with the ability to support, motivate, develop, and lead a team through regular coaching, one-to-ones, and celebrating your team’s successes
* Full and clean UK driving licence and be able to travel to sites
* You must be flexible to work mornings, days, nights and weekends (this is not a 9-5 role).
* Proactive self-starter with self-management skills
* Good IT skills and understanding of apps/technology
* Willingness to roll up sleeves and succeed in an unstructured environment
Desirable
* Leadership, management and coaching skills
* Operational experience within contract cleaning or security guarding would be a distinct advantage.
* Hold a current SIA security licence (Door Supervisor or Guarding)
