Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Workshop Technician to provide support to the workshops.
Role
* Machining of mechanical components designed by Engineers for prototype or concept special products, test jigs or test rigs
* Support Engineers with testing, construction of test rigs, set up and monitoring of tests and report results according to instructions
* Build electrical panels and control boxes designed by Engineers.
* Maintenance – Maintain stock levels
* Assist team leader in general workshop activities such as: Calibration, CoSHH, H&S, machine maintenance etc
Requirements
* Apprentice served Engineering background
* NVQ level 3 or BTEC ONC qualification in Mechanical and Production Engineering
* Machining experience with lathes and mills. CNC and Manual.
* Previous experience working in a workshop environment.
* Familiar with the following MS office applications: Word, excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Desirable:
* HNC qualification in Mechanical and Production Engineering
* Knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety and calibration.
* Previous test experience
* A basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic circuits.
* Test rig and Panel assembly.
