Carmichael are seeking an experienced Utilities Manager to jon one the UK’s largest infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the fully compliant and safe delivery of all Non-contestable utility works to time, quality and budgetary requirements on behalf of the Project Client.
Ensure integration with IPT to deliver the allocated Non-contestable utility scope.
Lead the Utilities team to ensure effective coordination across the teams within the IPT.
Responsible for the production of routine progress reports, inputs to standard reporting mechanisms and facilitate other key meetings (internal and external) by recording, writing and communicating actions and key points. Set out within the Utilities Deliverables Plan.
Ensure there is a clearly defined system of taking each Utility Diversion from design through to delivery, integrating the requirements of the Statutory Undertakers, NRSWA and client requirements.
Manage change control including planning and delivery of additional works scope is delivered in line with the requirements of the Construction programme.
Work collaboratively with the client to ensure best practice is always integrated, including interface with Statutory Undertakers, learning points across the scheme and any other efficiencies.
Lead the negotiation, reporting and contract processes with utility companies, supply chain, client, local authorities and other relevant project partners.
Identify and initiate General Communication and Early Warnings to mitigate risks, issues and enable the realisation of opportunities.
Integrate best safety practice and Statutory Undertakers into the delivery of works around Utilities – including integrating NERS
Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and support and comply with all organizational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Degree level qualification in either project management, commercial management, civil engineering or the equivalent experience.
Experience of delivering utility projects, with Statutory Undertakers, in the power, water, gas, fuel or telecoms environment.
Knowledge of New Road Street Works Act, HAUC, HS2 Act, Assurance & PPAs, Utility Regulations to inform project management of various design, construction and connection works with Statutory Undertakers.
Knowledge of the CDM Principal Designer role.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and oral)
