UK Business Development Manager

This a unique and key opportunity for a skilled Business Development Manager with a background of industrial machine automation to join a highly successful European business and create growth in their UK operation. You will be joining a leading manufacturer of industrial automation systems. They design unique solutions for highly specialised OEM machinery business across the globe. The Business Development Manager will be working with customers for bespoke projects incorporating Servo Drive & Motion Controls, PLC & HMI, Safety PLC’s and award winning application development tools.
We are seeking a technically capable sales professional with relevant experience of industrial automation sector and in return we are offering an excellent career opportunity to lead all business development for the UK. In this position, you will work from home and report to the Group International Sales Director, supported by a UK Based application and administration team.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop new business with target accounts within the UK machine builder / OEM sector by –
* Executing and developing a consistent and winning business development process.
* Actively and tenaciously pursue all leads
* Conduct daily sales appointments to prospective customers to promote full automation solution
* Compile and present solution concepts to prove the unique value proposition of the business
* Close new contracts with key decision makers at machine builders / OEMs
* Prepare monthly sales forecast and target account pipeline updates for all accounts directly served by this position
* Stay knowledgeable on all Company products, solutions and services
* Assist with sponsored trade shows
Expected Skills and Experience:
This role will best suit an individual with considerable proven experience in technical solution sales / business development within the UK. Which we would expect to be founded upon a background within industrial automation and ideally drives and motion control-
* We would not expect that this role would not suit someone seeking their first sales role
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, additional language skills would be beneficial
* Business professional with practical experience in similar field sales environment.
* A good level of education – HNC/HND in electrical engineering or comparable electrical engineering qualification is advantageous
* Ideally 3 to 5 years of experience in selling automation systems, drives or motion control
* Ability and desire to prospect new customers
* Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional commercial acumen

We are looking for a tenacious, driven salesperson who is looking for the chance to build their own business within a company who already have a decade of success in the UK, with a potential to become the MD of the UK arm so it becomes self-sufficient and less reliant on the EU parent company.
This role is home based with ideal locations being Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Peterborough, Cambridge, Oxford, Reading, Swindon, Milton Keynes, Bedford and North/West London.
