This is a brand-new role System Engineer through expansion and investment to support our two experienced Software / Electronics Engineers to further develop new and existing power systems. Based in Bedford we are an OEM, heavily investing in our R&D department. Come and learn from the best!
 
BASIC SALARY: £35,000 – £45,000 dependent on your experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: Systems Engineer – Embedded Software
 
Working as part of an experienced R&D team of eight and supporting two Senior Engineers involved with systems engineering, software / firmware development and electronic design, you will help to develop and implement embedded software for our power electronics systems. You will also support on Electronic / PCB design. You can see that this role is quite varied and a good combination of NPD and re-engineering!
 
Our projects are related to batteries, battery power, lithium power packs and more broadly power systems supplied into the automotive and aviation sectors.
 
Our components and sub-assemblies are largely manufactured in China with our assembly, build and test done within the UK.
 
This opportunity would suit an engineer who is ready to push on further develop their career – working and learning from a very experienced R&D team.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Systems Engineer – Embedded Software
 
· Design, develop and test embedded software for new designs in Embedded C
· PCB design and layout using Altium
· Maintain, support, and update existing designs / systems
· Debug new and existing designs
· Materials / component selection
· Support new product introduction
 
YOUR BACKGROUND: Systems Engineer – Embedded Software
 
· Your Electrical / Electronic background will have covered PCB design and Embedded C development
· You will be degree calibre in Electrical / Electronic / Software Engineering (or similar) or maybe even Computer Science
 
Experience of Microchip 16 and / or 32-bit devices would be advantageous as would a strong working knowledge of PIC Micro-controllers and / or Arm Processors.
