H9 Technical are currently looking for System Engineer in Buckinghamshire area.
Overview
A fantastic opportunity for a System Engineer who will be responsible for the Project Management of equipment/process upgrades to involve development of the overall Project brief, design stage risk assessment, involvement of key stake holders, capital justification/application, tender specification, installation, commissioning, defect rectification and documentation implementation within the document control system and the CMMS.
Implementing and completing new projects, plant and equipment upgrades increasing the overall plant availability in line with budget expectations.
To be a key member of the front-line management as directed by the Maintenance Manager when required to ensure the effective operation of the plant. This may involve direct supervision/liaison with the maintenance team and additional sub-contractors.
Budget responsibility as specified.
Role & Responsibilities
SHEQ:
Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
If aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation, consult their supervisor.
Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and not to use any that are unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in the approved place after use.
Ensure that all guards are securely fixed, and that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing/equipment provided are used.
Not to operate any plant or equipment unless authorised.
To report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence, or dangerous condition to their line management.
To switch off and secure unattended plant or equipment.
To avoid improvised arrangements and suggest safe ways of eliminating hazards.
Not to participate in horseplay or place fellow employees in danger by their actions.
Adopt a proactive manner to energy usage and suggest ways of improving energy performance.
Operational:
Health & Safety
Ensure that all activities within the site are carried out in a safe manner in line with safety policy and all Health & Safety statutory requirements.
Carry out risk assessments and write method statements to ensure activities are always completed in a safe manner.
Working as part of a team striving for continual improvement in minimising Health & Safety risk
Ensure visitors/subcontractors attending the site are inducted in the site safety and emergency procedures.
Ensure that the sites housekeeping standards are achieved and developed
Will act as the Authorised / Nominated Person within the limits of their competence when required to carry out work safely.
Plant development
To implement equipment upgrades and replacement in line with the agreed process priorities
To lead all activities to completion related to project on site
To update the site documentation system
Coordination for the planning, execution, and completion of the annual planned outages.
Management of Change process and procedures.
Team working
To work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. To be directly involved in managing with the focus on motivation and people values.
Manage and contribute towards the team effort, encouraging team spirit and help others.
Encourage employee involvement in the decision-making processes.
Maintain and develop industrial relations through effective communications.
Carry out development discussions with team members.
Skills & Qualifications
An experienced Engineer from a related industry
Operational understanding of combustion and steam processes.
Project Management experience using a Project management tool
Previous CMMS experience
Experience with preventative/predictive maintenance techniques
Ideally experience of route cause analysis
Ideally understanding and experience of CDM
Ideally Degree qualified (ideally in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) but extensive relevant proven experience will be taken into consideration.
Ideally holding an IOSH/NEBOSH safety accreditation
Project management qualification
Good communication skills at all levels both verbally and written.
Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills.
Have a willingness and ability to operate flexibly over a wide range of work areas.
The ability to be able to manage numerous sub-contractors in a planned outage environment
