H9 Technical are currently looking for Stores Assistant in Buckinghamshire area.
Overview
Reporting to Stores Manager, all employees to take care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions. Additionally, employees must also co-operate with the company to enable it to discharge its own responsibilities successfully.
Manage the stores' function, including close involvement in technical procurement, in accordance with processes and policies
Work closely with the facility Operations and Maintenance teams in the development and utilisation of an efficient, effective store's function, to optimise plant performance, availability, and profitability.
Role & Responsibilities
SHEQ:
Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
If aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation, consult their supervisor.
Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and not to use any that are unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in the approved place after use.
Ensure that all guards are securely fixed, and that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing/equipment provided are used.
Not to operate any plant or equipment unless authorised.
To report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence, or dangerous condition to their line management.
To switch off and secure unattended plant or equipment.
To avoid improvised arrangements and suggest safe ways of eliminating hazards.
Not to participate in horseplay or place fellow employees in danger by their actions.
Adopt a proactive manner to energy usage and suggest ways of improving energy performance.
Operational:
Co-operate with the Company to ensure that everyone on site comply with their legal obligations for Health, Safety, and the Environment.
Follow all procedures ref Health, Safety, and the Environment.
Assist in the development and implementation, followed by effective management and utilization, of the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Monitor and maintain stock levels of stores inventory and plant consumables to always ensure adequate availability. This includes forecasting demands, planning supplies, completing purchase orders, and accepting returns.
Maintain accurate records of purchases and monitor stock levels.
Expedite orders in the absence of the store's controller
Manage the stores area to ensure easy identification and location of stock and protection of stock from damage or unauthorised use.
Arrange transport of goods to and from site as required.
Ensure that recorded stock levels are accurate and understood.
Operate on site equipment, such as forklift trucks or plant hoists, as necessary to load/offload vehicles.
Undertake stock checks to a pre agreed timetable, and compile/issue associated reports.
Train other staff in operation of the stores as required to provide cover.
In conjunction with the Stores Controller, establish and undertake routines required to prevent stock condition degradation (e.g., rotation of large motors etc.)
Maintain secure area for all lifting equipment controlled under the LOLER regulations
Willing to work additional hours in emergencies and to support outages
Skills & Qualifications
Experience of purchasing or stores/stock control operations in an industrial setting
Industrial equipment Operations and/or Maintenance
Computer literate, with a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems as required.
An understanding of health and safety regulation.
Completion of all other training as defined within the Training Matrix.
