We are looking for a talented Electronic Systems Software Engineer to join our team help support our local and global customers in the brand new site in Milton Keynes with new software releases, support work and testing.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Responsible for the specification, design, implementation, testing and/or release of AutoSar software that controls the operation of Cummins’ products in a variety of customer applications
* Investigating embedded software problems, understanding causal mechanisms, recommending appropriate action, owning problem resolution and documenting results with guidance from more experienced team members
* Applying and supporting the improvement of embedded software development processes and tools. Processes include model-based development, coding, compiling and testing. Tools include Simulink, code editors, integration tools, static analysis tools, compilers and hardware in the loop test tools
* Making decisions in the areas of software requirements, design, implementation and test that impact the quality and performance of individual software features and/or components
* Owning problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems or services with a greater degree of technical complexity and ambiguity over the entry level engineer level and with greater accountability to the project team
* Providing independent execution of established work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge; engaging with the improvement of systems and processes
* Contributing effectively toward team goals, exhibiting influence within a work group and continuing to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Bachelors/Masters in IT, Computer Science or related subject preferred
* Experience of coding important – ideally with C++, micro controllers or architecture
* Exposure to AUTOSAR, MatLab or Simulink desirable
* Experience working with laboratory equipment beneficial – exposure to scopes, signature writers, power supplies ideal
Compensation and Benefits
* Base salary between £35000-£40000+
* Defined contribution pension scheme – company contributions up to 9%
* Annual bonus plan – target 8% (based upon company performance)
