Job description
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to assist us with our all-inclusive medical gas planning, design, maintenance and installation service. The successful applicant will be involved in preventative and reactive maintenance, playing a key role in service delivery and improvements.
This is a customer-focused role, where the successful applicant will service and maintain a wide variety of medical gas plant and equipment within NHS and private hospitals in the UK.
The hours of the role are Monday to Friday 8:00-17:00 as well as being part of an on-call rota.
Duties and responsibilities
Some of the duties and responsibilities associated with this role include:
* Working in accordance with industry standards and hospital requirements. From 1 April 2022 new government regulations will require all those who work in hospitals to be fully vaccinated.
* Performing service, repair, PPM checks, tests and inspections of Medical Gas equipment such as Air-Compressors, Vacuum Pumps, Alarm Panels and hospital ward gas outlets.
* Reporting any major issues that may/will affect medical gas supply.
* Submitting job summary and maintenance reports.
* Maintaining van stocks.
* Being part of an out of hours on call rota team (1 week in 7).
Experience required
To be considered for this role you will have an engineering background, with:
* A minimum of 2 years as a Field Service Engineer, or other customer facing role.
* Experience working with Electro-Mechanical systems an advantage.
* Competent Person (MGPS) status will be an advantage.
* Working for the NHS or hospital environment is a plus.
* Familiarity with Medical Gas systems will be an advantage but not essential.
Also required:
* A proactive approach to health and safety.
* Working knowledge of CMMS (PDA based) an advantage.
* Ability to prioritise and identify solutions.
* A positive can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset.
* Self-motivated, disciplined and methodical in approach.
* Ability to build positive relationships with customers.
* A clean driving license
