Senior Project Manager – Buckinghamshire – Food & FMCG

I am currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager / Engineering Project Manager for a blue chip manufacturing business in Buckinghamshire. This position will be responsible for all major capital projects on site and will also have input into a group level projects.

The site is primed for major expansion, with huge capital investment and looking for someone to take charge and oversee this. Over the next couple years, expect there to be new production and packaging lines, increased automation, factory refurbishment, extension and utilities upgrade.

Key responsibilities

* To ensure that from initial brief, capital proposals are prepared and are purchased, installed and commissioned within the agreed capital authorisation and success criteria using the latest technology and planning techniques.

* To lead Project Teams as directed on authorised major capital expenditure projects and ensure that they are successfully completed within the constraints imposed by the board.

* As directed, to carry out feasibility studies or proposed projects including budget costing of any possible capital spend and effectively communicate the results.

* To provide advice to operations staff where necessary on any technical problems relating to existing processing/packaging plant.

* To study, analyse, monitor and report on environmental legislation and regulations that may have an impact on the site, recommending courses of action, retaining the Pollution Prevention & Control (PPC) permits within the legislative timetable. This requires emissions, discharges, waste and other environmental impacts to be monitored and controlled on an on-going basis.

* To assist the factory to maintain an externally certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

The successful Candidate will have:

* Degree, HNC, HND, NVQ or other equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical etc)

* High level of experience in delivering high level capital projects of at least £5m in nature (Ideally much higher).

* Experience in Food, Beverage, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Chemical or other hygienic processing industry.

* Strong communication skills, excellent people skills and highly proficient organisation skills.
