Due to recent and anticipated growth, my well established Mechanical Engineering Client based in High Wycombe are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Engineer on a full time permanent basis. Candidates must be experienced within design and ideally be familiar with Solidworks.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the project management team to convert client engineering requirements into detailed defined instructions, identifying key priorities for the procurement and production departments to complete a project.
* Conceive, research, and develop engineering designs from product ideas gathered from liaising with Clients, together with Sales, Projects, and Production departments.
* Evaluate all key factors including client requirements, use of the product, material selection, safety, legal requirements, and design for manufacture.
* Apply knowledge and experience in the application of various engineering disciplines and procedures and fully appreciate their potential effect on the product definition.
* Ultimate responsibility for assigned design projects and delivering these projects within the required timescale.
* Understand project work sequences and can contribute to producing deliverables and undertaking activities.
* Attend and contribute to associated project meetings as technical lead.
* Review status forecast and control work area activities against schedule.
* Prepare project and progress reports.
* Responsible for attending meetings/reviews and reacting to any issues to best serve the customer.
* Liaise with Project Engineering Team Leader & Project Engineering Manager to look at project requirements including resources.
* Supporting Design Engineers with their workload when/if required.
* Be flexible to create drawings when/if required.
Experience & Personal Attributes:
* Experience of working in a Project Engineer role.
* A self-motivated, proactive individual with good communication skills
* Good organisational skills with ability to manage time effectively between multiple technically demanding projects.
* Demonstrate a logical approach to tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, the ability to present complex technical results in a clear and concise manner.
* Able to deal proactively with senior discipline representatives in the co-ordination of work.
* Able to quickly adapt to working to department specific procedures and work practices.
* Flexibility in responding to critical deadlines.
* Oil and Gas Industry experience.
* Experience of pressure retaining components.
* Hydraulic analysis skills.
* Mechanically biased.
* FEA understanding.
* Knowledge of British Standards for Engineering Draughting
* Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write technical reports and procedures for Clients.
* Fully conversant with Solidworks, Microsoft Office & AutoCAD.
Qualifications:
The Senior Project Engineer will normally have attained a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline or achieved 10 years or more experience within the industry.
An attractive salary of £45-50k is on offer for the right candidate with a proven track record within projects.
Hours of work are 07.30 – 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 07.30 – 13.30 on Fridays covering a total of 40 hours per week.
