Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer – Milton Keynes
Our clients are a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with multiple offices based throughout the UK. As they continue to grow, they are now looking to recruit a Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their office in Milton Keynes.
They are ideally looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar consultancy. You will be part of the environmental team working with a diverse range of clients on new build developments and refurbishment projects across a variety of sectors.
The Role
– Full project management of projects of all sizes including commercial delivery of projects, ensuring timescales and budgets are met.
– Input into the preparation of fee proposals and develop associated site investigations scopes.
– Lead the site investigation process from concept (proposals) through to completion (reporting, additional work including remediation strategy, DQRA, earthworks specifications etc) on projects of all sizes.
– The role requires some site work including mentoring and training of junior engineers and technicians on site and completing site work for larger complex investigations.
– Undertake coordination with other professionals and contractors as appropriate.
– Liaise with Clients and other members of the design team to ensure investigations and designs meet the Clients brief including attendance at design team meetings / site meetings as required.
– Work independently on smaller projects, or as part of a team on more significant schemes.
– Actively pursue new business opportunities.
Requirements
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a consultancy environment
– Degree in a relevant engineering subject
– Ideally Chartered Geologist, Engineer or Scientist (or at least working towards Chartership)
– Excellent knowledge of all relevant British Standards and Design Codes
– Excellent IT skills including a basic understanding of AutoCAD
– Proficient in the use of technical design packages such as SlopeW and Holebase
– Proficient in foundation design, earthworks, slope stability and contaminated land risk assessment
– Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
– Ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Full UK driving licence
