Senior Planning Engineer required to join a leading, well establisked UK manufacturing Company.
Our Client is a leading Tier 2 supplier to the Automotive sector supplying a range of specialist components to leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers within the Automotive industry as well as other sectors including Aerospace and other specialist sectors. Components are manufactured on site and include sheet metal stampings and die castings.
You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of orders to dedicated customers in line with the scheduled or order requirements. This will be done by receiving the order and expediting the planning, production and purchasing of material. Chasing the order, ensuring its timely despatch and keeping the customer fully informed are all essential parts of the process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* To provide cover for the Planning Manager when absent.
* To liaise with transport co-ordinator reference collections and despatches.
* Monitor delivery performance for each customer you are responsible
* To review all outstanding orders with customers as and when required.
* Liaise with production regarding order completion dates.
* Expedite material in, through communications with the production managers and suppliers, ensuring the max three days stock holding of material is not exceeded.
* Schedule material requirements with the required lead times using the MRP system and monitoring stocks of material and finished goods.
* Process production orders through liaising with production control department.
* Ensuring any required changes to works orders are processed through the ECR process.
* Monitoring prices and having them amended as necessary.
* Undertake verification of batch quantities and lead times from orders ensuring that they are suitable.
* Responsible for receiving and entering customer’s orders/requirements accurately onto the MRP system.
Requirements:
* Proven work experience as a Senior Planner/Planner or similar role.
* Experience of MRP.
* Knowledge of Winman (Desirable).
* Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
* MS Office proficiency.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
* Self-motivated and capable of decision making.
* Experience of working in the Automotive Industry (desirable).
