Mechanical Design Engineer – Rotating Machinery

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of working on Rotating Machinery? We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer looking to join a world-leading supplier of systems and services to the Aerospace industry.  As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work on a wide range of products producing innovative designs using the latest technology from concept through to production.

The company have heavily invested in new motor technology and are looking for Senior mechanical Design Engineers with an understanding of rotating equipment/machinery to be a part of next generation technology. They are now leading the way in electric motor technology and are working on some cutting-edge projects.

In this key role, you will also be responsible for:

Producing Design Schemes, including CAD models and 2D drawings for concept and detail designs of electric machinery.

Carrying out design calculations, such as interference fits, thermal growths and thread loadings to support designs.

Leasing closely with other project teams including stress, manufacturing, sourcing, reliability etc.

Produce and maintain accurate Bills of Materials in line with latest CAD technologies.

Operating in accordance with the company Product Introduction Process (PIP).

Producing design assurance documentation, such as ERN's and Design Reports.

The ideal candidate for this role must have:

A Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Previous experience of working in a similar role.

Working knowledge of working on the design of rotating machinery
