Job Description
Senior PMC Electrical Engineer responsible for review of contractor electrical and telecom deliverables on major upstream, refinery, petrochemical or energy transition projects located in both domestic and international markets. Home office location is Milton Keynes, UK. Possible travel or expatriate assignments include other offices, Engineering or EPC Contractor Offices, Joint Venture partner offices or project construction sites. Multiple overseas locations as well as potential for UK-based projects.
Job scope (budget, management, specific criteria):
Electrical and Telecoms engineer with extensive experience of reviewing the associated engineering deliverables and report writing. Should be experienced in FEED and EPC phases of major grassroots refinery, oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
Requirement of depth and breadth of experience in all aspects of electrical/telecoms engineering and design.
The Engineer’s main responsibilities are:
Review Client technical requirements and ensure these are incorporated in Contractor’s project related specifications and design drawings.
Electrical procedures
Technical specifications
Data sheets
Purchase requisitions
Coordinate electrical related issues with the other disciplines.
Ensure overall quality of the electrical design by performing regular reviews.
Participate in formal 3D plant model reviews.
Apply knowledge/skills to a range of activities
Good communications skills are essential.
Typical background and experience required:
Degree from accredited University, with minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas industry.
PMC experience.
Be fully familiar with international codes, standards and recommended practices of FEED and EPC phases of Oil & Gas Projects
Electrical Engineering experience on large EPC projects
Must be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to the oil & gas and petrochemical industries
Ability to apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge to address complex problems and non-standard situations. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions.
Capable of explaining difficult concepts and able to persuade others to adopt a point of view.
