Senior Electrical Design Engineer Milton Keynes, UK £45-55k + benefits

This is a new and interesting role for an experienced electrical design engineer to join an expanding and successful technology company. They seek an experienced electrical design engineer with a broad range of skills including design of safety systems and automation using PLCs.

Required: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

* Good first principles electrical design experience

* Experience of the design of electrical systems ideally for capital equipment / machinery (flexible)

* Able to own projects and take them from initial requirements through to final commissioning and sign-off.

* Ability to specify electrical systems designs as well as produce electrical schematics

* Experience with the design of PLC based automation systems

* Good experience with 2D CAD systems for wiring schematics, P&ID circuits, layout drawings.

As well as the support of newly designed equipment and machines, you will be involved with developing electrical solutions to upgrade and develop existing systems.

As a senior electrical design engineer, you will need to be able to own and deliver electrical design projects from start to finish. Experience of working on the design of electrical systems involving sensors and PLC / automation would be preferred.

Skills / Knowledge required: Electrical design engineer

* Ideally a degree in electrical engineering coupled with first principles electrical design knowledge

* Good electrical design experience gained within an industrial environment ideally involving capital equipment / machinery and instrumentation

* Able to own projects and take them from initial requirements through to final commissioning and sign-off.

* Ability to specify electrical systems designs as well as produce electrical schematic for low voltage applications (24V to 1000V dc or 1500V ac)

* Experience with variable speed drives (integration of drives), sensors and instrumentation (e.g. speed, temperature, etc.)

* Experience of electrical safety (risk assessments, safety standards, etc)

* Good experience with 2D CAD systems for wiring schematics, P&ID circuits, layout drawings. (e.g. Vesys, AutoCAD, etc)

* Experience of automation and PLC control software (ideally Beckhoff automation or similar)

Others: Beneficial skills

* Practical electrical installation, commissioning, and test experience (panel build etc)

* Good knowledge of noise immunity (EMI, EMC considerations)

Electrical design candidates should be well organised, proactive, good communicators and able to take a lead and mentor junior technicians if required.
