An experienced Senior Ecologist is required to help with the delivery of projects within the waste, property and infrastructure sector. Workload has already been secured so this is an opportunity for you to build and develop a team with technical support from the wider UK Ecology team.

Senior Ecologist Job Description

As a Senior Ecologist, you will have the to lead / manage projects on a technical, commercial and financial basis whilst helping to grow the team in the southern region. This will be an office/remote working role with limited site work.

Duties as a Senior Ecologist will principally involve project management and delivery covering all Phase 1 Habitat and protected species surveys, Ecological Clerk of Works, Input into fee proposals and all relevant technical reporting.

It will be expected that you can liaise with Clients and other members of the environment team to ensure designs meet the Client brief including attendance at design team meetings / site meetings as required as well as getting involved with business development activities.

To progress as a Senior Ecologist, you will need to have,

Relevant degree in ecology or directly related subject
Relevant consultancy experience with a strong focus on preliminary ecological assessments, Phase 1 ecological surveys, EIA and planning support.
Excellent understanding of UK nature conservation legislation, including environmental impact assessments and planning guidance.
Excellent report writing and project management skills.
