Zapsa ltd are a specialist Talent Aquisition Consultancy working in the Renewable Energy, Environmental, IT, Sustainability sectors.
We are working exclusively with a vertically integrated Operations and Maintenance specialist for utility scale ground mounted solar farms in the UK and Abroad. With over 500 MW currently under contract, a new position has arisen from substantial growth, and they are now looking to secure another HV Engineer who will be working on Solar Projects based in the Swindon/ Bristol area. The SAP Engineer will attend customers' sites, maintaining various ground mount solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on a day-to-day basis. The SAP Engineer will be carrying out High-Voltage (HV) and Low-Voltage (LV) maintenance across the portfolio including utilising and testing of solar PV instruments.
This pivotal role within the organisation and You will be joining a highly experienced and well-trained team of engineers managing one of the largest portfolios in the UK.
Location: (home based) Travel heavy role based around Milton Keynes /Oxford
Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Private Networks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems.
* Responsible for performing HV and LV Preventative Maintenance accordingly with the annual Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
* Responsible for HV operation, including but not limited to switching and repair works as occur and as guided by the appointed Authorised Engineer.
* Issuing Permit to Work and Sanction to Test where appropriate.
* Responsible for performing Corrective Maintenance as required.
* Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, that are suitable for audit.
* Fault finding for any system that is not performing correctly.
* Providing support to the Field Service Engineers in fault finding for any system that is not performing correctly
* Responsible for the contents and following the Distribution Safety Rules.
* Issue and control of Safety Rules.
* Compliance of employees working under other company’s Distribution Safety Rules.
* Fully conversant of the U.K. electrical power distribution industry and be familiar with its standards, practices, and procedures.
* To ensure full compliance with Quality Management System and Safety Procedures
* Provide technical advice and assistance to other members of staff.
* Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
* Receive reports of all accidents.
* Investigate and take appropriate action for all incidents.

* HNC or equivalent in electrical engineering.
* Expertise and experience in all aspects and at all voltage levels (LV, 11kV, 33kV and 132kV) in the U.K. Power Distribution Industry.
