R&D Technician

An excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanical engineer to join an international packaging business as an R&D Technician, where you will work on varied projects for product development, improvements & innovation for customers who are some of the largest international consumer brands. Key areas of focus will include for example- packaging downgauging, light-weighting and improved sustainability.

You will be partnering with various departments and will therefore will have access to developing well-rounded skills, with various progression routes within development engineering, product engineering or quality assurance.

As R&D Technician you will work on a variety of requirements for testing, performance & reliability measuring, development, tooling changes and then report writing. Ideally you will be experienced within metrology.

This position will require an inquisitive and investigative mindset to challenge results and best practice.

Experience & Qualifications:

Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification- for e.g. Degree, HND & Apprenticeship routes
Previous practical mechanical engineering experience
Testing, Measuring and Report Writing
Experience with tooling changes and improvements
