Job Title: PTS Train Cleaning Supervisor – Night Shift (You must hold a valid PTS / Sentinel Card to AC standard)

Location: Bedford

Contract Length: 6 Month Initial Contract (Temp – Perm)

New Requirement! We have an exciting new opening for a skilled & experienced PTS / Sentinel Card holder to join a leading train operating company as a Train Cleaning Supervisor to supervise the cleaning operatives and ensure the trains are ready for passenger service.

The Candidate:

The new opening which has become available for a PTS Train Cleaning Supervisor offers you the opportunity to work at 3x local depots in the Bedford region where you shall be responsible for supervising the cleaning operative teams in their duties, inspecting, auditing, and signing off work to confirm the train is ready to return to service. As a hands-on PTS Train Presentation Supervisor, you shall also be required to perform cleaning duties when additional trains are brought in for servicing.

The Role:

As the PTS Train Cleaning Supervisor, you shall oversee & lead the cleaners in their cleaning tasks which includes interior train cleaning, such as deep cleans and full cleans (touch point cleaning, sanitising, hoovering, mopping, removing of rubbish & waste etc…) to ensure the trains are meeting the cleanliness standards and are presentable for passenger service.

This opportunity leads to a permanent position, with opportunities to progress as a Team Leader, Duty Leader and more within the train presentation area of the business. However, with the organisation experiencing huge growth plans, there are also opportunities to progress within engineering, customer service and other key areas of the business.

Requirements

A highly desired & skilled role requires you to hold a valid & in date PTS / Sentinel Card to AC standard for this position, along with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, reliability, and flexibility to work nights on weekdays and weekends as part of a 7-night roster schedule. Working hours range from start times of 18:00pm – 23:00pm, and finish times of 04:00am – 06:00am across a 7-day roster which includes weekend work. A cleaning background is desired, however alternative backgrounds in track maintenance as an operative who is seeking further responsibility or a supervisor looking for a new challenge will be of interest.

Rates of Pay, Working Hours and Benefits:

Standard Hours – £13.46 p/h with overtime and bank holiday rates up to £22.18 p/h.
