Purpose of the role:
To work with engineering, development, and procurement teams to ensure our fleet of prototype vehicles are built to a high standard, and on time. Our prototype build manager will be a senior technician that will pull together multiple parts of the business to help schedule, build, and troubleshoot our development vehicles and ensure they are up and running as much as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with design and development leads to develop realistic vehicle build schedules based on component lead times, testing requirements, and resources
• Manage day-to-day activities of vehicle build, including hosting a portion of daily meetings with all teams
• Work with engineers to develop and enforce standard build practices such as build books, proper torque specifications, clearance requirements, etc.
• Ensure proper flow of communication and documentation during testing, including schedules, faults, and necessary design changes
• Maintain and specify changes/upgrades to prototype build area including tooling, storage, safety equipment
• Perform risk assessments of relevant activities around prototype vehicles
• Liaise with electronics and engineering to ensure all HV safety protocol is met
• Assist prototype technicians in vehicle and component build. This is not a hands-off management role.

Qualifications:
(Essential)
• 5+ years prototype vehicle experience
• Some form of High Voltage training
• Valid UK/EU driving license
• Automotive background
(Desirable)
• 10+ Years prototype vehicle experience • Advanced high voltage training • Experience leading small teams of technicians • Experience with classic cars and/or vehicle restoration
