My well established Mechanical Engineering Client based in High Wycombe are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager on a permanent basis.
The role of project manager is to plan, execute and finalise projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The project manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Responsibilities: Engineering
* Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
* Track project milestones and deliverability.
* Work closely with customer management to understand the business requirement for the project, developing effective working relationships and on-going management processes for the project.
* Define deliverable, resource requirements and work plan for the project, and manage their development and delivery.
* Ensure that the project is delivered within the financial requirements of the business unit.
* Estimate and plan projects from start to finish, with built in contingency.
* Ensure projects meet industry leading quality standards.
* Manage monitor and motivate the cross functional team assigned to the project.
* Conduct project presentations and compile reports.
* Develop full scale project plans.
* Client and supplier interface as required.
* Implement and manage project changes, interventions and costs to achieve project outputs.
Experience & Knowledge:
* Oil and Gas Industry experience (desirable).
* Full understanding of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
* Experience of pressure retaining components.
* Understanding Hydraulic analysis.
* Should be mechanically biased.
* Hold a recognised Engineering Qualification.
* Excellent writing skills, including the ability to write complex and technical reports for clients.
* Ability to write and perform client presentations.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a range of different personalities.
* Experience of managing / leading a team (desirable).
* Proven track record of Project Management.
* Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Project Management qualification (APM / Prince or similar).
* Quality and ISO systems knowledge.
Hours of work are 07.30 – 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 07.30 – 13.30 on Fridays.
