Production Manager / Machine Shop Supervisor / Production Supervisor
Manufacturing Workshop
Milton Keynes – MK9 
Day Shifts – £35k Per Annum
Pension, Holiday and Profit Related Bonus 
 
Our established client who specialises in manufacturing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is opening a new division in their state-of-the-art unit based in Milton Keynes. They are looking for a technically minded Production Manager with previous experience of working in and managing a machining workshop, to grow their new and exciting team.

The client is looking for an experienced Production Manager/ Machineshop supervisor who will take responsibility for all aspects of the business; Production facility, improvement & development, whilst effectively leading, training & managing the site's staff and all production processes. The candidate will ensure smooth & efficient operation of all aspects of production & maintenance across the site, as well as production processing and general day to day running of the facility.

This is commutable from Luton, Bedford, Northampton, Aylesbury and Banbury

Other titles may include: Production Supervisor, Machine Shop Supervisor, Workshop Supervisor, Machine Shop Team Lead and Production Team Lead.

Duties Include:
– Learning and understanding the machining and production processes
– Training new staff on the machinery and production processes 
– Production planning, budget, control & availability of raw materials
– Health & Safety for the site, ensuring PPE is worn by all personal as required
– Management of teams within Production facility, ensuring good communication across 
– Knowledge of regulatory requirements & compliance
– Quality Management and control
– Training & development
– Stock control
– Production Reporting and management of production process
– Development of new quotes and capital planning and equipment selection for manufacturing improvements by providing consultation relative to difficulty of running parts, plant flow, and product/process/labour needs or costs.
– Time sheet calculations for wages
– Planned & Preventive Maintenance management
– Adhere to ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 quality systems
– Utilities and materials supervision
– Continuous Improvement
– Adopt a LEAN manufacturing methodology

Key Skills / Experience Required:
– Must have experience working in a Machinery/Automation shop floor environment
– Supervisory or Management experience
– Hands on machining experience
– Possesses some Mechanical/Electrical knowledge (basic machine fault finding)
– Leadership qualities
– Production / Manufacturing experience in FMCG, Manufacturing, Textiles or similar
– Proven management and leadership skills
– LEAN Manufacturing knowledge (5S, Kaizan etc)
– Engineering and/or Machine Operative background
– BSC/HND in Engineering (or equivalent)

The Package:
– Up to £35k per annum
– Pension 
– Day Shifts, Monday to Fri 9am-6pm
– Holiday plus stats
– 5% profit company bonus
