Production Engineer (Sheet Metal)

Job Profile

As the successful Production Engineer you will be working alongside a friendly and welcoming team of other highly skilled Machinists both in sheet metal and machining for very approachable manager, offering a stable and well-structured role working to quality standards ISO9001 and ISO4001.

Duties

* Offline programming of Laser Cutting Machines

* Experience in the use of Lantek laser programming software or similar would be advantageous

* Create sub assembly drawings and load to lasers.

* Look to reduce time in set ups and running times

* Challenge current methods and processes to improve on cost, quality and time taken.

* Ensuring production documentation is detailed and accurate

* Identify tools and techniques to achieve individual jobs

* Help train production staff

* Co-ordinate projects and proto-types to ensure jobs and projects are delivered on time.

* Implement improvements to the manufacturing process – 5s, Lean Manufacturing etc.

* Assist with programming and setting up machines for operators.

Skills & Experience

* Experience of Lantek laser programming software or similar would be advantageous

* Must be able to draw using AutoCad or Solidworks

* Ideally qualified, with at least 3 years of Manufacturing/Production experience in a Precision engineering environment.

* Knowledge of sheet metal fabrications and CNC machining.

* Preferably has experience using an ERP system

* Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.

Hours & Benefits

* 40 hrs per week

* 08.00 – 17.00 Monday – Thursday, Friday 14.30 finish

* £34,000 – £36,000

* 25 days holiday
