We are looking for a production engineer to join our fast paced sub-contract manufacturing company based in South Milton Keynes.

As a production engineer, you will be responsible for creating flat form CAD drawings for manufacture, estimating and assisting with problem solving, creating best methods of manufacture.

The production engineer will also be responsile for the following:

* Create sub assembly/flat form CAD drawings.

* Offline programming of Laser Cutting Machines.

* Job estimating by determining manufacturing methods for new products.

* Create sub assembly drawings, and nest drawings and load to laser(s).

* Look to reduce time in set ups and running times.

* Challenge current methods and processes to improve on cost, quality and time taken.

* Ensuring production documentation is detailed and accurate for staff to follow.

* Identify tools and techniques to achieve individual jobs.

* Help train production staff.

* Co-ordinate/manage projects and proto-types to ensure jobs and projects are delivered on time.

* Implement improvements to the manufacturing process – 5s, Lean Manufacturing etc.

* Assist with programming and setting up machines for operators.

To be successful in this role as a production engineer, you will have the following experience:

* Ideally be qualified, with at least 3 years of Manufacturing/Production experience in a Precision engineering environment.

* Have knowledge of sheet metal fabrications and CNC machining.

* Be able to determine all manufacturing processes required to fabricate the product.

The ideal candidate for the production engineer should meet the following criteria:

* Should possess a high level of competency with ERP/MRP systems.

* Experience working with ISO 9001 Standard

* Must be able to draw using Auto Cad/Solid Works or equivalent

* A good understanding of fabrication, metal forming etc

* Great communicational skills.

* Must be able to read and interpret engineer’s drawings and specifications
