To be considered for this role you will live within a 1 hour drive of Milton Keynes as this helps us to be able to plan your work efficiently, so that you are out there and doing what you do best.
What will I be doing?
In its simplest and most explicit form, industrial safety can be a matter of life or death. As a Pressure Vessel Engineer (pre-commissioning) for British Engineering Services, you will be helping to make Britain a safer place for industry, businesses and for people whenever and wherever, in this role you will be responsible for providing pre-commissioning inspection services for pressure equipment and dangerous goods tanks.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Inspecting in-service dangerous goods tanks and pressure equipment to establish fit for purpose, or to ensure quality of modifications and repairs
* Reviewing quality documentation relating to materials, welding and non-destructive testing for both newly constructed and repaired/modified equipment
* Working closely with our Technical Consultancy Head Office team to ensure that technical and commercial information is communicated effectively, contracts are managed appropriately, and billable time is detailed
* You will be responsible for the management and delivery of specific projects, as well as assisting with the training of our Engineer Surveyors
* Carrying out detailed reporting, with no compromise, ever
* Ensuring all customers are compliant with vital regulations that help to govern their industry in the UK
* Always providing an exceptional level of customer service, whilst representing our brilliant company professionally

What experience do I need?
Our team consists of the best, highly skilled and qualified Engineers and we want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do.
You will need:
* A Level 4 engineering qualification and a substantive level of practical experience, alongside an understanding of the pressure equipment directive
* Understanding of pressure equipment and/or dangerous goods tank construction
* Considerable experience inspecting new or repaired/modified construction pressure equipment and dangerous goods tanks within a manufacturing, pharma, nuclear, shipping or other relevant environment
* Ideally you will hold experience in and have knowledge of welding processes and procedures, weld inspection and weld defects
* The ability to communicate complex and technical problems with ease
* A good level of IT and literacy skills in order to complete detailed customer reports.
