Role: Plant Fitter / Service Engineer

Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

Salary: £26,000 – £32,000 + Overtime

National Plant Hire company with a UK wide network of branches supplying an extensive range of tools, plant (excavators, diggers, dumpers, telehandlers etc.), powered access, generators, compressors and pumps.

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Plant Fitter / Engineer working out of their Milton Keynes depot.

As a Workshop Fitter working for this busy depot you will have overall responsibility for the inspection, testing and maintenance of the plant hire equipment and related kit. You will also be responsible for ongoing repairs, breakdowns, testing and all the associated documentation.

As an experienced Plant Fitter / Mechanic, with a proven track record in a similar role, you should demonstrate a hardworking, can do approach, along with lots of self-motivation and the ability to prioritise a busy workload. Alongside this you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus a commitment to providing a first class customer service.

Depot Fitter Roles and responsibilities:

Maintenance, repair and statutory compliance of all Plant within the range
Capture and Identify machine damage and ensure clear lines of communication are maintained with both Manager and customer
Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance record
Assist work colleagues as and when required

Skills required

To be considered for this Plant Fitter role, candidates will need the following attributes:

Able to Work as part of a Team
Flexible, keen to embrace new training opportunities, which may on occasion require staying away
Customer focused
Plant trained (minimum NVQ level 2 Plant Mechanics or equivalent)
Electrical, hydraulic and diesel fault-finding experience
Welding experience preferred
Effective planning and organisation skills with strong attention to detailJob Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £32,000 + bonus + overtime
