Cobham Aerospace Connectivity are looking for an NPI Manufacturing Engineer Technician to support the NPI process. Produce Work Instruction Sheets (WISs), update Unit production Costs and routes during design up to and including qualification/C model build.

This role is based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and reports into the NPI Manager.

As an NPI Manufacturing Engineer Technician your key responsibilities will include:

To produce Work Instruction Schedules (WIS) to support the Development phases
To update the Unit Production Cost (UPC) of development jobs
To prepare routes on the production system to integrate with the WIS
To review assembly methods to support New Product Introduction and quality issues.
To create and validate tooling and assembly aids.
To review drawings and process specifications.
To make appropriate suggestions/improvements to manufactured products.
To support with design reviews and develop 'manufacturing preferences' to allow design to include best practice manufacturing methodology from the start.
To provide technical support to the Production team as part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

As an NPI Manufacturing Engineer Technician your key skills and experience should ideally include:

Experience of working in the manufacture/production/fitting of electro-mechanical assemblies.
An avionics background is desirable, though not essential
CAD knowledge and experience would be desirable but not essential
Problem-solving skills.
Computer literate, experience of using Microsoft Office is essential and shop-floor data systems is desirable.
Strong awareness of SHE issues.
Experience of 5S / Lean Manufacturing / Quality tools and working knowledge of MRP is desirable, though not essential
Excellent attention to detail.
