Job Title: Mobile Lighting Technician
Location: Covering Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Areas
Salary: £30,711.24 per annum + Company Vehicle, company pension scheme, BUPA (single cover), 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
Hours: 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday (6am until 2.30 pm with some flexibility)

For this role our client is looking to recruit an experienced Lighting Technician to look after a small number of retail sites around Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.
Job Purpose:
To carry out lighting planned maintenance and emergency repair work in stores to pre-determined standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
Key Accountabilities:
* To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy regulations.
* To work with company and colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
* To ensure that all members of the lighting team are aware of and understand company practices and procedures relating to lighting installations.
* To respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.
* To complete the PPM schedules within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
* To carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client.
* To identify non-repairable faults in lighting equipment and promptly advise the Area Maintenance Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
* To advise the store manager of any repair and maintenance issues relating to lighting that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
* To supervise, monitor and control the work, attendance and timekeeping of the Lighting Mate(s) to ensure quality standards and efficiency are maintained.
* To carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Area Maintenance Manager.
* To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal and plumbing/drainage team job skills keep pace with technical developments.
* Ensure all mandatory training evolve modules and training are completed.
* To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop a good working relationships
* To attend cell meetings as and when required.
* To assist lighting technicians in other areas when requested to do so by the Area Manager.
* To supervise, monitor and control the work, attendance and timekeeping of the Lighting Mate(s) to ensure quality standards and efficiency are maintained.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* NVQ Level 3 / City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation / maintenance.
* City and Guilds 2382 17th Edition or 18th edition (new) Edition Wiring Regulations – essential
* Basic installation of lighting in stores, e.g. cable glands, conduits, track, light density and spread, cable types and loadings
* Ability to maintain/repair the full range of lighting equipment in a store to recognised standards, e.g. filament, fluorescent, mercury vapour, sodium, low voltage, car park
* Ability to work at heights
* Competent in the use of steps and ladders
* Ability to distinguish colours to the standard required for lighting
* Full current driving licence
* Degree of flexibility required. Will be required to stay away from home occasionally.
* Willingness to work flexible hours. Night shift may be required
