Mechanical Project Engineer – Supply Chain/Distribution
Location: Buckinghamshire
Salary: £50-60,000 + fantastic benefits + outstanding career opportunities

To assist their growth plans they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer to add to their management team. The successful candidate will have fantastic attention to detail, strong communication skills & the ability to manage high expectations to deliver the business agenda.

Key Responsibilities:
Acting as the conduit in engineering to insure an on-time and under budget implementation
Leading all required portions of a project through the requirements engineering and final engineering (implementation) processes including engineering budget, schedule-tracking, submitting weekly status reports and maintaining the Engineering Project Workbook
Leading detail design using 3D drawing tools and preparing all bills of material (BOMs).
During procurement, supporting Client meetings, identifying potential suppliers, setting up tier levels, supporting request for proposal (RFP) generation, scorecard development, and reviewing and supporting supplier presentations and site visits
Estimating coordination, confirming and supporting capital budgets, and attending all price reviews.
Helping to develop implementation schedule and budget.
Tracking engineering schedule, budgets, and resource planning (report to engineering directors)
Regularly Interfacing with contractor/architect
Leading final engineering effort and engineering weekly meeting, publishing weekly engineering status reports (consolidated from electrical engineering, design engineering, technical services), tracking engineering schedule and budgets, and resource planning (report to engineering directors)
Reviewing implementation plans with the project manager and the site manager to include phasing
Ensuring drawing quality control and quality assurance needed to provide strong support to the implementation process
The Person:
Degree educated, or equivalent, in a relevant STEM subject
Consulting, operations and/or distribution experience in supply chain logistics desired
Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment and general operational knowledge of distribution centres with a focus on automation design
Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
Experience in meeting and design session leadership and facilitation with ability to present in front of a large group including all stakeholders
Ability to travel nationally & internationally
