Our client is a market-leading, international manufacturing organisation with impressive growth plans, supported with large-scale capex investment, and an existing established network of manufacturing facilities across the UK and Europe. With plans for major plant investment, including the introduction of more autonomous equipment, layout, and efficiency at their Milton Keynes site, our client now requires a Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee capital project improvements and process improvements across their manufacturing site.

Reporting to, and supported by the Chief Engineering Manager the position will take responsibility for overseeing a wide range of engineering improvements across the site.

Primary responsibilities of Project Engineer:

To oversee capital projects including the capital installation of new automated systems working with the Chief Engineering Manager, and main contractors
To identify process improvements across manufacturing processes and systems, to identify bottlenecks and propose corrective measures, maximising OEE potential
Play an active role in improving the organisations competitiveness – increased reliability, productivity, reduce waste, improve quality etc.

Key Requirements:

A recognized Engineering qualification – Mechanical or Electrical
Experience of overseeing or playing a key part in capital project improvements – CAPEX
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels is a perquisite
Experience of undertaking basic layout design would be an advantage but certainly not essential, e.g. CAD

The position may suit any of the following; Project Engineer, Project Manager, Process Improvement Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor etc
