KAP Technical are working with a client that provides high quality, industrial x-ray systems and services ranging from lead-lined rooms large enough for aircraft engines to small cabinets for inspection of electronic components.
Mechanical Fitter
The work:

* Assembly of composite lead-ply panels for x-ray shielding

* Cutting, shaping, fitting parts and assemblies

* Preparation, painting, packing parts and assemblies

* Installation of steel framework, composite panels, doors, and parts for the x-ray room

This is all manual work and will require a reasonable level of physical fitness
These are the skills/qualifications we are looking for:

* An engineering qualification – C&G, BTEC Level 3, NVQ, etc

* Mechanical engineering background

* Hands on experience with workshop fitting, assembly, fabrication

* Experience of using hand and power tools and workshop machinery

* Ability to understand engineering drawings

* Good understanding of general health and safety.

* IPAF, CSCS or equivalent site passes preferred (but not essential)

* Able to work effectively alone or as part of a team
