An F1 car consists of about 80,000 components. Each component has to be manufactured, built and fitted with 100% accuracy to ensure they have the best chance of winning……and this is where you come in!
The role
As an mechanical assembly technician you can expect be assembling both child parts and assemblies used for manufacturing parts for an F1 car. You will be working to engineering drawings, and written instructions from the engineers to assemble complex components to tight tolerances, so like everything in F1, precision is key. The position is working Monday-Friday and will be part of a busy team who are all trying to make deadlines so overtime maybe required, however you can expect to be for any overtime.
The Business
They are a small sub con, who work exclusively with an F1 team, they have a small team of elite engineers within a newly refurbished F1 style environment, one where it’s that clean you could eat your dinner off of the floor! As they are a small team you will be given the chance to get involved in all aspects on the manufacturing process.
Experience
Much like the F1 cars themselves, your day will be fast-paced, so being a self-starter with a sense of urgency, one that thrives on meeting and exceeding deadline is a must! A mechanical qualification such as HNC or HND would be preferable but not essential provided you can evidence similar previous work experience. Previous success stories in this position have come from a Motorsport technician background accompanied by mechanical engineering qualifications.
