A worldwide corporation with a site in Milton Keynes is seeking to recruit a Materials Engineer specialising in sealing and joining for a twelve month contract.

Supporting the delivery of components relating to Sealing & Joining functionality, this role will be responsible for product material compliance & the support of material related issues.

The Materials Engineer role:

– Ensure a robust design and compatibility of materials, sealing & joining with other sub-systems and components.
– Dissect customer & program requirements into component based quantitative targets & robust designs in order to meet functional requirements.
– Participate in development of DFMEA, Engineering Specifications, Standards, Design Rules & Guidelines, Requirements, Statement of Work process/documents.
– Investigate failures related to sealing, joining & materials to aid root cause analysis
– Co-ordinate any relevant engineering trials, tests & analyses pertaining to joints, seals and materials.

The successful Materials Engineer:

– Strong knowledge of material science.
– Experience with joint design (welding/adhesive/bolted joints) and sealing applications
– Degree in relevant engineering discipline with a minimum 5 years relevant experience
– Expertise in deploying suitable materials & joining technologies to meet system requirements.
– Strong people skills and the ability to work individually and in a cross functional team.
– The role will require an understanding of physical, informational, electrical & material interactions between components.

This role is assessed as within Ir35 and as such must be paid as either PAYE or Umbrella PAYE.

PAYE rate – £29.50/hr
Umbrella gross rate – £39.50/hr
