About the Role & Company:
We are looking for a production engineer to join a fast-paced sub-contract manufacturing company.
This position will be responsible for creating flat form CAD drawings for manufacture, estimating and assisting with problem solving, creating best methods of manufacture.

Experience:

* Ideally qualified, with at least 3 years of Manufacturing / Production experience in a Precision engineering environment

* Knowledge of sheet metal fabrications and CNC machining

* Able to determine all manufacturing processes required to fabricate the product

Responsibilities:

* Create sub-assembly / flat form CAD drawings

* Offline programming of Laser Cutting Machines

* Job estimating by determining manufacturing methods for new products

* Create sub assembly drawings, and nest drawings and load to laser(s)

* Look to reduce time in set ups and running times

* Challenge current methods and processes to improve on cost, quality and time taken

* Ensure production documentation is detailed and accurate for staff to follow

* Identify tools and techniques to achieve individual jobs

* Help train production staff

* Co-ordinate / manage projects and prototypes to ensure jobs and projects are delivered on time

* Implement improvements to the manufacturing process e.g., 5s, Lean Manufacturing

* Assist with programming and setting up machines for operators

Requirements:

* Should possess a high level of competency with ERP/MRP systems

* Experience working with ISO 9001 Standard

* Must be able to draw using Auto Cad/Solid Works or equivalent

* A good understanding of fabrication, metal forming etc

* Great communicational skills

* Must be able to read and interpret engineer’s drawings and specifications

Hours:

* 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday
