JFR are recruiting for a time served Maintenance Fitter for our client, a food manufacturer based in the Milton Keynes area.

The ideal candidate should have a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering qualification, ideally with experience within a food manufacturing company.

Hours will be varied on a shift pattern with early start days with an amount of flexibility required for covering shifts and attending emergency breakdowns.

The role will involve;

Following an agreed maintenance plan
Providing emergency cover for breakdowns
Undertaking safety inspections
Repairing and maintaining all areas of the site in addition to machinery
Liaising with production staff
Minimising down time
Ensuring safe and efficient operation
Calibrating weighing and measuring equipment to meet specifications and safety requirements
Following and encouraging safe working practices and maintaining guards and isolators
Keeping accurate recordsThe role involves manual handling and hand held tools daily, a reasonable level of fitness is required to meet work load expectations
