Purpose of Role:
The Machine Setter and Operator is responsible for programming and operating the CNC machine within a small but busy machine shop environment and therefore it is important to ensure deadlines are met
Key Responsibilities:
Setting and Operation of CNC machinery in accordance with accurate specifications ensuring that components are produced correct to drawing and delivered on time
To understand priorities and to work towards achieving delivery objectives
To always adhere to company procedures
To always maintain a high level of housekeeping
Maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety in general and with particular attention to the immediate work area, reporting any concerns to the line manager
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
A good basic standard of education is required with an engineering bias
Good practical skills
Comfortable working to deadlines
Should have a strong team work ethic, with the ability to work unsupervised
Ability to read engineering drawings and instructions
Able to take instruction and complete those with a high attention to detail
Preferred but not Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Experience of CNC operation and production engineering (Training will be given on the companies’ machines and products)
Hold a recognised engineering qualification/completion of apprenticeship
What else do I need to know:
Full time 40.5 Hour Week (Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-3pm)
