Lead Waste Project Officer
Our local authority client is looking to add a Lead Waste Project Officer to their team.
The role:
You will have excellent organisation skills to lead and manage complex waste programmes and projects for the Strategic Waste Management and Enforcement services. You will work closely with the Waste Commissioning Team Leader and work on various projects across the team/service.
The Lead Waste Project Officer will enjoy working with professional advisors in multi-disciplined project teams. Projects could be short to long term and complex for example external funding bids, internal business and system improvements, service and works (infrastructure) procurement, waste data systems, contract reviews, service delivery models, life cycle replacements of plant, equipment vehicles, policy and strategy development and reviews.
The candidate:
You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised person to join our busy team. Be able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage complex plans, prioritise and coordinate project teams and colleagues.
The Lead Waste Project Officer will have a project management qualification and or good experience in project management. Will need to collaborate closely with relevant in-house and external expertise to deliver various projects to ensure outcomes are delivered meeting expectations.
You will be able to demonstrate leadership, negotiate and make decisions to take forward the programme of projects with stakeholders. You will have excellent organisational skills, confident to use your initiative and professional expertise to manage responses to complex or politically sensitive issues.
