A rewarding career
We’re passionate about our work and we’re passionate about our people too. With a salary of up to £80,000 depending on experience, when you join the CityFibre family you’ll also enjoy benefits like 25 days’ holiday, a day off on your birthday, a day off to support a charity or organisation of your choice, performance-related bonus scheme, and private healthcare.
How can you change it up?
You’ll step into an environment that gives you all of the support, opportunity and autonomy you need to help CityFibre adopt cutting edge DataOps practices. Inspiring and developing a squad of DataOps engineers, you will build and implement data pipelines using Agile, DevOps and Lean Manufacturing principles. A thorough knowledge of automation and monitoring is important, with a commitment to continuous improvement and fast, iterative delivery.
What will you bring to the role?
We’re looking for a combination of technology expertise and softer skills. It is ideal that you have a background in SQL and principles of data warehousing. You must be a good communicator who can motivate and coordinate others. You will also need to demonstrate experience migrating from one data platform to another and holistically addressing the unique challenges of migrating to a new platform.
Experience in end-to-end implementation of Snowflake cloud data warehouse, as well as general Snowflake design and engineering experience, is desired, with a certification also being ideal. It will also be beneficial if you can deploy Snowflake following best practices and can extend the capabilities of Snowflake based on the development requirement.
You will also already have plenty of relevant experience in a DataOps role, with the skills to ingest data into automated pipelines, test outputs and ensure data quality. Experience in any of the following technologies would be beneficial:
* Apache Kafka within an Event Driven Architecture
* AWS and AWS Glue
* CI/CD pipelines
* Python
* Lenses/KSQL/Kafka Streams
* Kanban framework
* Terraform
* Snowflake ( data modelling, ELT, implementing complex stored procedures, etc)
* Snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL and Snowpipe
* Big Data techniques
* ETL design and development, including test-driven development
