This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Solar Project Manager to join our client's Milton Keynes based team. Under direction from senior colleagues, the Junior Solar Project Manager will be responsible for coordination and administration of their O&M service delivery across a portfolio of solar farms. Tasks will be varied, time-sensitive and often entail a large amount of responsibility. Customer interaction will form a part of the role, as will daily interaction with our site-based teams of engineers and electricians. The role will suit a candidate who is a good communicator, highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to multi-task effectively. Previous (ideally technical) experience in the solar industry will enable faster progression, but for the ambitious candidate learning on the job is a definite possibility.
Responsibilities
Use monitoring software to monitor the sites on a daily basis and organise appropriate responses to site and system issues which may arise from the monitoring platform
Manage (open/close/update) fault tickets
Communicate with customers and assist with delivering relevant information to customers when requested
Arrange scheduled preventative maintenance works and reactive inspections
Liaise with in-house LV and HV team and manage the work calendar, ensuring the teams are briefed in a concise, accurate manner
Organise work with subcontractors and third parties
Log the teams on and of sites
Implement good H&S best practices, including chasing RAMS, raising Work Orders and arranging Site Inductions
Scan and file documents and site reports
Keep on top of contractual obligations and response times
Produce contractual monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Create purchase orders and quotes
Procure spare parts
Liaise with inverter manufacturers for replacement units
Help with development of company processes, and support the production of company marketing materials
Assist with other daily O&M requirementsExperience and Skills
University degree, preferably in a technical or environmental discipline is ideal but not essential
Experience of administration and procedures within a customer service supported role
Driven and able to take initiative
Undertake routine tasks adhering to company procedures
Working knowledge of project planning processes and able to multi task effectively
Able to utilise time efficiently in order to meet deadlines effectively
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent working knowledge of IT Packages such as Microsoft Office and GoogleDocs
Confident communicator, with solid interpersonal skills allowing you to liaise with colleagues, building relationships; also with customers, internal teams and supplier
Able to remain composed and professional under pressure, keeping a positive outlook
Has the aptitude to identify methods for improving own activities and processes in use within the customer service teamDesirable
Electrical Engineering background (beneficial but not essential)
An understanding of health and safety regulations and CDM
Interest and relevant experience in renewable technologies (preferably Solar)
