Our client is a leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery for the Flexible Packaging industry, exporting 90% of the product to a world wide customer base. They now require experienced Service Engineers to provide 24/7 technical support to their extensive customer base.

You will be required to travel to customers' sites to lead the installation and upgrade of projects and to carry out service & inspection work, in line with on-going service schedules. Whilst located at sites, you will be required to coordinate installation resources, liaise with the customer to resolve any issues, ensuring a successful conclusion to the relevant installation / project.

Skills/Experience Required:

• Maintenance and operation of bespoke high-speed packaging equipment

• Understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles and previous maintenance or a service engineering background

• Field based customer support

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work on own initiative

• Multi-skilled in Electrics, Mechanics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics

You will have the ability to carry out fault finding of PLC, Drives & Motors with ideal experience to include Siemens, Rexroth, Beckhoff and Lenze. The role will involve a lot of autonomous working therefore you must be competent to deal with any issues that arise, be they electrical or mechanical.

Experience of working within remote diagnostic, technical support solutions in a customer support environment is desirable. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing, to a high level of English is essential and the ability to communicate in other languages would be a great attribute. The successful candidate will need to be a strong influencer with excellent commercial acumen. They will be an effective stakeholder manager who is able to build and maintain relationships which add value to the business.

When not travelling, you will be spending time on pre-commissioning and test activities, therefore you must be commutable to the main office. We are seeking candidates based in and around the following areas: Milton Keynes, Bedford, Northampton, Kettering and Luton.

In return you can expect a base salary c£25k-32k experience depending with an expected OTE of £50k+ through paid overtime, Travel Allowance, plus Pension and Healthcare. Door to door travel is paid for UK work with all international site work paid as an automatic 14 hour day. £40 daily site allowance paid, un-receipted.
