The Client:
We are working with a cutting-edge automotive manufacturer, who is developing exciting new technologies. Their engineering team is responsible for developing and supplying situational awareness and navigation platforms. Since their founding they have rapidly expanded and recently gained a significant 8 figure investment from OEMs and Tier 1s.
Their product is supported by a proprietary software backed up by hundreds of patents (issued or pending). As this team of high-profile engineers and scientists continues to grow, they are looking to expand their research function through the hiring of an experienced Holographic Optics Researcher, to join their core team developing next & future generation holographic technology.
The Role:
The position is within the businesses core function, their research and development team, technologies of which has built the business to where it is today, and maintains their standing as true pioneers of the industry.
Responsibilities of a Holographic Optics Researcher within the business include:
Developing new situational awareness and augmented reality technologies.
Design passive and active optical components and devices, from initial theory to coding & testing.
Design & implement new, laser based, optical bench setups
Hands-on fabrication, and coordination of external researchers, developing optical components in company laboratory.
Develop new intellectual properties – invention and discovery, and support patent attorneys.
Undertake and supervise new research, developing optical components within holographic displays via holography/laser optical bench experiments.
Data analysis, coding, and simulation using MATLAB, Python, C++ or similar tools.
Qualifications/Experience:
PhD or Masters Degree in Laser & Optical Engineering, Optical Science, Material Science, Physics or other related discipline.
