Manufacturing company specialising in manufacturing pressed component parts, sheet metal work, welded assemblies and powder coat finishing to the Automotive industry are looking to recruit a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join the Senior leadership team. You’ll be responsible for preparing health, safety and environmental strategies and ensuring these are adhered to. This person must be experienced in the automotive, engineering or manufacturing industry with experience in foundries or heavy machining.

Commutable from: Bicester, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Towcester, Aylesbury, Oxford, Banbury, Northampton, Dunstable

Salary: £ 40,000 p.a. to £ 45,000 p.a. plus pension, holiday, parking and other benefits

The Role:

As the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager you will be responsible for the following:

Outline safe operational procedures, which identify all relevant hazards and accuracy assess risks
Carry out risk assessments and advice on risk reduction including improvements to PPE
Liaise with all the relevant regulatory authorities
Make sure that knowledge is up to date according to new legislation and best practice
Lead regular HSE audits to check policies and procedures are being properly adhered to
Carry out HSE inductions for new employees and update new HSE procedures in line with current management systems
Investigate any incidents or accidents and maintain records, also being able to produce statistics/reports to prevent reoccurrences
Manage hazardous substances and the disposal of chemicals and assist with external audits

As the ideal candidate for the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager you will have:

Experience working in a manufacturing environment, in supervisory or stand-alone position
Minim level 3 qualification in a recognisable health, safety and environmental subject
At least 3 years’ experience of manufacturing or heavy engineering environmental in a H&S role
Member of IOSH or IIRSM
