BASIC SALARY: Up to £60,000 dependant on your relevant practical experience and qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION: Firmware Engineer – embedded firmware

We need you to help us to be creative, innovative & stay ahead of our competition in our marketplace as a leading developer of environmental monitoring equipment & instrumentation.
We have a clear vision & product roadmap for where we want our technology to be. We can give you direct exposure to innovative sensor technology, IOT, BLE, embedded microprocessors, low power electronics, cloud-based technology, communication protocols such as Bluetooth, wireless charging points, battery packs, digital signal processing, cloud connectivity & much more.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Firmware Engineer – embedded firmware
· You'll develop embedded firmware for our range of environmental monitoring instrumentation which are connected to the cloud
· Provide robust and accurate software/firmware solutions and provide guidance on new products
· Improve / maintain an in-depth knowledge of existing / new products, applications and firmware requirements
YOUR BACKGROUND: Firmware Engineer – embedded firmware
You will be educated to a M.Eng, B.Eng, HND or HNC in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or similar.
Your practical background will be in the design, development, test and documentation of firmware development for embedded microprocessors (e.g. ARM or similar)
Strong experience of 'C', 'C++' and object-oriented programming (OOP) – any experience of C# is an added bonus
Your experience with include:
· RTOS & cloud connectivity (E.g. FreeRTOS, AWS, etc)
· Connecting wireless sensors (E.g. IoT or IoE)
· Wireless communication protocols (E.g. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G/4G/5G)
· Sensor signal processing, data acquisition and battery power management
· Producing systems /architectural design layouts

It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets and worked with the following products and/or services: physics, firmware, embedded, microelectronics, microprocessor, Arduino, schematic, Pspice, sensor, IOT, battery, signal processing, biometrics, low power, digital microprocessor circuitry design, Bluetooth, ARM, IOE.
