Field Service Engineer required to work on a fleet of gas, diesel and electric power generators
Based in the South East ideally within a 20 mile radius of Milton Keynes

Position Overview:
Working as a Field Service Engineer based in the Sotuh East Region, you will report to the regional Operations Supervisor and ultimately be responsible for the monitoring, operation, and maintenance of several power generation assets.
You will be integral to the performance of the Company's portfolio of UK generation sites and much will be expected of you. The Operations Team have a great team ethos so you'll be expected to be integral to the team and will be relied upon at all times to offer support, demonstrate your competency and be a fantastic multitasker.
You will be expected to demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and commitment towards health and safety to ensure we maintain our first-class safety culture.
Responsibilities:
Review the operation of the plant equipment and systems to minimise unplanned downtime
Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and to identify opportunities for improvement
Complete call out duties across several sites
Work safely in line with current HSE legislation and provide, assist and support the H&S team to ensure we delivery high levels of health and safety
Issue PTW and follow Safe work instructions under Risk assessments
Supervise contractors when required
All aspects of Operation and maintenance of Natural Gas and Diesel fired engines in your area on a day to day basis both mechanically and electrically
Complete planned service schedules on both engines and associated plants inputting relevant info into a computerised management system (CMMS)
Investigative fault finding and repairs to breakdown situations on both mechanical and electrical equipment
Order and organise site stock parts
Requirements:
Operational mechanical engineering experience gained from a field-based role is essential
Experience of monitoring, operating and maintaining HV (high voltage) gas or diesel power generators is a must
Operational electrical engineering experience is preferred
Ignition, diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, configuration and servicing experience would be ideal
Experience of Jenbacher and/or Cummins engines would be advantageous
You must hold a valid full clean UK driving licence
Right to work in the UK is essential
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The role will require excellent problem-solving skills and flexibility to work long unsociable hours.
